The Edge present at European Fraud Conference
16th January 2012The 11th European Commission OLAF Anti-Fraud Communicators' Network (OAFCN) Training Seminar was held at the HQ of the Luftwaffe (at the German Ministry of Finance) in Berlin recently. The conference was entitled "Deterring fraud by informing the public: the power of pictures", and focused on how film can be effectively used to draw public attention to the problem of fraud in the EU.
The OLAF plays an important role in communicating to the public the threat of fraud, its effect and the efforts made by national and European investigative authorities to combat it.
There were a number of workshops and presentation sessions and The Edge’s Creative Director Pete Stevenson spoke about how moving images can help promote trans-border anti-fraud messages. He illustrated his session by showing examples of how The Edge has helped governments and businesses around the world, inspire people through film and combat the threat of fraud.
