WHAT'S

On Location

26th October 2010

On average a film requires around 4-6 weeks to create, some are made in just a few days with others taking several months.  The process requires special skills and experience to keep over 200 different productions a year running smoothly.  From a small team visiting a company office to a major shoot involving 20 crew and 80 extras, every film has its own unique challenges.

Every week we have film crews working somewhere in the world – whether in a major provincial city, remote desert or an oil rig in stormy seas.  We have filmed in most major territories of the world, from Norway to Taiwan….Brazil to South Africa….Australia to Qatar See here for some recent examples.

Every shoot requires meticulous planning and organisation whilst remaining flexible for change, such as when the weather prevents filming or an interview is moved at short notice.  Everyone and everything needs to be in its place at the designated time.  People must be fed, equipment must be tested, cameras and lighting set up, props delivered and schedules maintained.  All of this needs to be managed within agreed budgets whilst maintaining the creative excellence for which we are so highly regarded.  Every day is different and challenging and it’s what makes working with The Edge as an employee (and hopefully as a client!) so rewarding.
