Meet The Team - Ben

I’ve been lucky to work at the Edge for over 10 years as a producer and I live in a small Victorian flat in leafy Camberwell with my stray cat - Morpheus!  I can be a bit of a bear in the morning, so I leave it until the last possible moment to drag myself out of bed, on some shoot day mornings that can be pretty early!  A quick shower and then I hop on the bicycle.  This really helps me to focus so when I arrive at the Edge in Covent Garden 15 minutes later, (after a cappuccino!) I’m ready to take on the day’s challenges!

What I love about my job is that no two days are the same, whether I’m in the office, at a client site or waking up in some obscure place on the other side of the world.  I’ve been fortunate to experience some pretty wild times from staying on a remote island off the coast of Norway - powered by a single wind turbine to riding the Arabian dunes in a 4x4.  Office days are generally more tranquil and are a real necessity after a long shoot!

As an Edge producer I’m responsible for seeing a production through from start to finish and to ensure a happy client.  Sometimes this is a balancing act and you have to weigh up the creative against editorial.

I work closely with my Executive Producer at all stages throughout the production and really value their support on all creative decisions, although we don’t always agree!  My PA Natalie is my main support and without her I’d be lost!  Natalie really helps to get the show on the road and when I’m on some far afield foreign shoot without her, I really miss the assistance!

To be able to work at the Edge and push both creative & technical boundaries is really what drives me.  I get to develop & write scripts, proposals and occasionally direct. Working with great people who feel passionate about what they do and seeing the tears in a client’s eye makes all the hard work worth it.
