Employee-Generated Training
19th February 2010The Edge are running training courses for a variety of clients, which are designed to give participants the confidence to experiment with making films for themselves. They are provided with the skills to shoot competent material using digital devices and complete basic edits using inexpensive software. The course aims to raise their aspirations beyond producing simple talking-head films, with the aim of making short and effective programmes which consider the needs of the audience.
The two-day version also includes discussion of non-documentary approaches, and looks at developing ideas, researching genres and creative brainstorming. The exercise has greater headroom for creativity as trainees develop an idea of their own, shoot and edit the footage during the training course.
