Filming wind farms out overlooking the Barent Sea. Was -40 and gale force winds. It required 3 people just to hold the tripod stable to be able to get the shots. And with only 15 minutes out of the car at a time before having to warm up between shots it was certainly one of the hardest locations we’ve ever been too.
Filming partnerships in action with National Grid. We filmed the Tesla Coil and various experiments and also some interactions with students for the National Grid Future of Energy film.
For a corporate image film we visited lots of industrial sites including a paper factory and also a sewage farm but the highlight of the shoot was travelling for 2 days to central China to be the 1st foreign film crew allowed to film inside the Three Gorges Dam. An amazing experience!
Sweden was the location of choice to launch a new environmentally sustainable phone. Certainly one of the most expensive places for a wrap drink at approx £9 a beer!
Filming in Central Park – A very romantic setting for a young male production assistant and 4 hairy middle aged men!
A great opportunity for a football mad producer to film at the Man Utd training ground with Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves. Possibly the most highly paid extras we’ve ever used…
For someone who has always been into medical programmes the idea of being scrubbed up to go into an operating theatre and film a medical procedure was an exciting one. Fainting at the site of blood was not my finest moment!
We only had enough money in our budget to pay extras for our first day of filming. We could only afford to pay an actor for one day. Therefore on the second, and last day of the shoot I put on the actors clothes and was transformed into an Asian man. This meant I was filmed on a 5* Yacht for a day while the crew hovered above me in a helicopter!
We were filming a half-documentary, half-drama film about children who've been helped out of child labour by an amazing charity, Pronino. In Ecuador, Manta is famous for giving its children whacky names. We met a 'Toyota Corolla', a 'Usnavy' (named after the US Navy ships that chug along the coast) and a primary school teacher called 'Hitler' (no, really!).
Ipanema beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, - Not a bad life
El Salvador- GSK- 2004. Filming a story about GSK donating drugs to poor people in El Salvador. Great to see the amazing work they do.
Filming Values film about courage. Nearly got arrested by KGB our rubbish fixer had set us up to film on a Russian military base and that wasn't allowed. Luckily we managed to escape in a covert mission!!
We got to film at a school which provides free education and food, in an amazing effort to try to raise slum children out of poverty.
Filming one of the most stunning waterfalls in the world.
Filming a sewage works in 80 degree heat, certainly not the most glamorous of locations! Our producer says she can still remember exactly how it smells.
Such a shame to realize the purple berries don’t actually talk…
And we bet you didn’t know 95% of all British blackcurrants are used to make Ribena
London Eye. What an amazing location such an incredible view.
One of the prettiest villages in England.
Imagine a huge store room containing 10% of the world’s plant species stored as seeds at -20 degrees.
Why is it that beautiful shots always require very early starts? Worth the effort as the timelapse photography of table mountain was fantastic.
I found the best cake shop ever. I bought 10!
This was a 2 man crew making a film to launch a high profile conference for CGIAR – a UN supported agricultural organization that supports African women in agricultural research and development. These pics were taken in a local community in Kumasi, Ghana, in 40 degrees and 100% humidity – moments earlier, we’d been ‘granted permission’ by the Chief of the village to film on his patch!

We covered 4 events in 4 different locations for Qatar National Day. It was such an honour to be a part of the incredible celebrations.
We heard from former US president Bill Clinton how fundamental Georgetown University was in laying the foundations of his success.
