8 Asks for the 8th

On International Women’s Day in 2018, the IRC made it their mission to put the spotlight on those who continue to be left behind by welcome progress – whose lives are still dominated by violence, discrimination and dis-empowerment.

Women around the world – particularly in places affected by crisis – face discrimination, violence, and a lack of equal opportunities that threatens their lives and robs them of their potential. But with the right support, they can change their futures.

We gave cameras to women working on the front line of humanitarian aid, so they can tell the international community what needs to be done to end violence and discrimination against women and girls, even in the most challenging situations – in short, 8 asks on 8th March.
