In Africa 60-80 % of crops are managed by female farmers. Yet African agri-science remains male dominated - so female knowledge from the fields is not transferred to the laboratory. To improve food production this imbalance needs addressing. Thema’s Journey was produced to outline the work of the CGIAR Gender & Diversity Program, which supports professional growth in scientific expertise and people management, thus facilitating the development of female science leaders and strengthening institutions.

“Thank you, thank you. It is absolutely beautiful. Please tell the entire team that we love it. We'll show it all around Africa, and the globe, with great pride. I'm sure it will help us reach the hearts and minds of both men and women!"
